Capstone Progress 12–13

Looking ahead, I’m excited to be diving further into my capstone topic over the course of co-op, as well as continue form-making into the beginning of spring semester. I explored a variety of organization methods for my UX portion, to which I believe I am now focusing on a timeline-like format, where users are able to choose where to go next and gradually build upon their interconnected web of music business knowledge. So far, I’m liking the idea of a tabular format or a more organic format on a spatial grid, visually showing progress through growing vibrant colors across one’s dashboard.

Upon receiving feedback from faculty, I think I may go towards a direction of doing a walk-through of some elements of my resource, and not creating a fully-functioning prototype in order to lessen my workload over the coming terms. This in turn I feel is a smart direction to go in as branding is my strongest suit, and alleviates some of the stresses behind creating a UXUI platform from scratch.

Even though this semester was rough on me mentally (I’m sure that’s the case for others as well), I’m proud of the progress I’ve made and the brainstorming I’ve done to settle on a topic I know I have passion for in a medium I’m strongest in. I’m looking forward to continuing my relationships with my resource persons over the next two semesters, and how I may truly start to bring this idea of mine to life.
